My artwork entitled, Feathers, focuses on combining the disciplines of: sculpture, object, painting, drawing and printing. It may also be perceived as a purely aesthetic installation reminiscent of cultural symbols found throughout art history, for example – the myth of Icarus; or a garment that can be worn. While wearing the FEATHERS the design is invisible, yet it is felt by the one who wears it, therefore the experience of the art is different from viewer to subject. The art is, in a sense, transferred through the person wearing it. I want to communicate how many meanings can be bound together in one idea, yet some of the aspects have to be left behind so that when your focus shifts to a different meaning it can be assimilated.
